Play is an activity that’s fun for children. When playing, children not only build their physical activity, but also mental or activities that use the ability of the brain such as thinking and concentration. To do all that activity, they would need a lot of energy.

In one day, a child requires an average of 2,000 calories of energy. The study states, child brain requires more energy to 1.5 times more than adults. For that energy needs to consider because if not fulfilled, their activity may be disturbed and can cause developmental delay.

So that children do not lack energy and can do the activity well, there are several ways that parents can do. In addition to insufficient intake of a healthy and balanced nutrition, parents also need to emphasize importance of breakfast every morning and add a healthy drink energy booster.

Breakfast should contribute as much as 20 to 25 percent (400-500 kcal) of energy needs in a day. Provision of healthy beverages should be selected that contain complex carbohydrates that can be processed much longer in body and its energy is not quickly exhausted. That way, children can play without fear will lack energy.
